The Annual Brentwood Regatta is a renowned event that brings together people from all corners of the globe for a weekend to celebrate the incredible sport of rowing. This year, Brentwood was proud to host Regatta for the 49th year in a row, and welcomed coaches, athletes, and spectators to our oceanfront campus for some great racing.  Unfortunately, due to windy conditions, there were times throughout the weekend where races were delayed, putting a hold on the competition. However, while the name suggests that people come to the Brentwood Regatta for rowing, there is plenty more to be offered! Despite wind, the sun was still shining, and hundreds of students, families, coaches, and rowers gathered on Founder’s Plaza to experience the weekend’s festivities! With almost two thousand people on campus this weekend, the Entrepreneurship class rose to the challenge of satisfying any hunger or craving, providing a wide variety of tasty snack and meal options for everyone to enjoy! “I’ve been coming to this regatta with my sons for the last five years, and I think this year had some of the best food booths I’ve ever seen!” said Marlene, a proud parent from one of the visiting Washington crews. Other commendations for the students of the Entrepreneurship class came from many guests of the regatta this weekend, especially regarding service: “Every time I visited a booth, I was greeted with a genuine smile and extremely kind service from the students working” mentioned one of the coaches from a visiting Vancouver school. Another great aspect of the Brentwood Regatta is the live entertainment! Both staff and students prepare pieces to showcase their musical talents for the visiting crowd. With a variety of genres, ranging from jazz to rock to classical, there were songs for everyone to enjoy and sing along to. “I live in Mill Bay, and every year I come to this regatta just to listen to the great music the kids play every year, its refreshing!” says Robert, a local resident. The students who perform on stage at the Regatta are always excited for the opportunity to demonstrate the sets they’ve been working on, as it always contributes to the amazing atmosphere of the event.  13 year old Tessa, a younger sibling of one of the rowers this weekend, said “I usually get bored when I have to go to my brother’s regattas, but I like this one. Brentwood makes it into a spectator event.”  Great competition, a stunning view, incredible food, and impressive entertainment; the 49th Annual Brentwood Regatta was an unforgettable weekend!
