A Saturday of First Aid
Last Saturday the Grade 10s dedicated eight hours to learning first aid. We were split into five groups, with different instructors, throughout the Bunch Centre. They taught us many useful skills, from basic first aid to CPR. The instructors would often have some students act as injured people, while others quickly came to aid them. We treated many different scenarios such as kitchen accidents, car crashes, and even a shark attack. Then they brought out the dummies and we practiced giving CPR.
A big thank you to all the Brentwood adults and the instructors for making the day run smoothly. Though it was a long day, we definitely honed some very useful skills that could save a life someday. If there’s ever an emergency on campus, the Grade 10s will know what to do.
