With the competitive season ramping up to its climax, the Brentwood College Rowing Club sent the majority of its athletes to the Shawnigan Lake School Regatta last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This was a huge competition for the club because most of the boats sent to the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association (CSSRA) Regatta in St. Catharines were depending on their times from this weekend being fast enough to book themselves a ticket to the National Championships. The weekend kicked off with all of the rowers heading over to Shawnigan to rig the 24 boats that had been trailered to the lake. Several crews, in events with more than 13 entries, then raced that afternoon in time trials. The majority of racing then took place on the Saturday and Sunday, where the club was able to capture 8 Bronze medals, 5 Silver, and 1 Gold - Allulah-Beth C, Alexandra ‘19 in the U19 Women's Single.  This was a very successful weekend for Brentwood rowing, as it qualified 10 Brentwood crews for the 2019 CSSRA Regatta! 28 Brentwood student/athletes will travel to St. Catharines to take part in this massive competition, and compete against the top crews from Canada and the United States! Best of luck to all of these athletes, and a big thank you to the coaches who have guided us, and pushed us the whole season to make it this far. Jack NG, Ellis ‘21
