A Fair Dinkum Dinner

Earlier this month, our friends from down under took over Crooks Hall armed with fairy bread and the less gentle Vegemite. Hosted by Clare M, Mackenzie ‘17 and Mrs. McLean, Australian Dinner was a treat for the Brentwood community and marked the first cultural dinner of the new year.

With a menu that consisted of prawns on the barbie, fairy bread, and meat pies, Australian Dinner gave the Brentwood community the chance to try the delicacies that our resident Aussies have enjoyed since birth. The braver of us dared to try Vegemite for the first time, an experience that sent some running to get more, and others just running.

Australian Dinner is one of the many cultural dinners that the Brentwood Food Services Staff and the SAC organize. With students from over 30 countries, the Brentwood family gives each other the chance to try out foods from different cultures, an opportunity that even the pickiest of eaters cannot resist.
