2nd X1 Field Hockey at the Friendship Cup
Talk about being thrown into the deep end with a tournament in the first week of season, with girls who had never played a full game because of last year's restrictions, let alone faced experienced Cowichan Valley players.
Learning as they went with lots of direction from the sideline and on-field leadership of Emily P, the team came up with a hard-fought 3rd place finish in the competition.
Third place out of six teams was indicative of them building upon their newly found skills and a better understanding of the rules and tactics of the game. Pleasingly, the juniors, playing for the very first time, held their own and learned to be tough in wet weather.
