University Counselling and Placement
Choosing the right fit for a university experience can be an overwhelming task. Brentwood is renowned for its exceptional record of quality university placement. Last year 87% of our graduating class received acceptance to their first choice of university. Brentwood's university counselling team has established an international reputation by developing strong relationships with post-secondary admissions departments, parents, students and Brentwood graduates.
Brentwood is fortunate to have our own US university counsellor who works with all students exploring the United States upon graduation. Educated at Princeton and Wesleyan, Mr. Tim Zenker served as a dean there and also at Brown and Vassar. He has been an administrator and teacher at public and independent schools and is a faculty consultant to the College Board. Mr. Zenker works personally with each student seeking admission to a school in the US.

The university/college counselling process becomes formalized at the end of Grade 10 when guidance begins on course selection for Grade 11. In Grades 11 and 12, advisors work in tandem with our counselling team to ensure that students understand the myriad options available to them. Parents are involved throughout this process and are encouraged to participate in the development of the list of potential universities.

Every year a group of Grade 12 students tour fifteen universities in Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces to get a first-hand impression of the different institutions in these regions. At nearly every campus students are welcomed by Brentwood alumni who give their valuable personal perspectives. Regardless which university a student may choose, the ability to contrast and compare so many choices makes the tour an incredible opportunity.
