Sue Whitney

Sue Whitney is a life-time sports woman who grew up in England where she trained as a teacher before emigrating to Canada in 1968. She taught briefly in Northern Alberta before teaching in Edmonton for twenty years, subsequently moving to Cobble Hill, BC in pursuit of four separate seasons. After retiring from teaching, she starting coaching field hockey and rowing at Brentwood. A lifelong fan of field hockey, Sue played for Alberta in 1972, for Canada in 1973 and plays indoor and outdoor games with the local ladies team in the Victoria league. She started the Cowichan Valley indoor field hockey program twenty years ago. Sue learned to row as an adult and now coaches junior boys rowing. When she isn't out on the water or standing next to the fields, she houseparents in all the houses as the students' favourite granny!
