Maggie Flynn, B.P.E. (University of New Brunswick)

A dedicated and caring Houseparent, Maggie Flynn was born in Glasgow and raised in Montreal. She completed a Bachelor of Physical Education at the University of New Brunswick before going on to receive a specialist certificate in Special Education from York University and French certification from the University of Toronto. Her teaching career in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Ontario, and now British Columbia has spanned almost three decades. Since joining the Brentwood faculty in 1999, Mrs. Flynn has taught French and helped establish the "Key" programme for students with learning style differences. An avid skier, extreme hockey fan, and a devoted mother of three grown sons, Mrs. Flynn is now pleased to have 51 daughters in her extended family of Mackenzie House. Mrs. Flynn spends her holidays with her husband, Mike, camping and hiking in the quiet of the British Columbia forests, and enjoys inviting her friends from the East to share the beauty of the West Coast.
