Lorraine Blake, F.I.S.T.D., Reg. R.A.D.

Born eighteen miles south of London, England, Lorraine Blake completed her high school education in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). By age sixteen, her training allowed her to dance with the Bulawayo City Ballet Company, both locally and on several National Tours. Ms. Blake trained as a teacher in Johannesburg, South Africa, then worked in England and Zimbabwe. Marriage and the birth of her daughter were followed by a move to Toronto. After ten long winters, the lure of British Columbia was irresistible. Working closely with girls through dance paved the way for her appointment as Houseparent of Gwynneth House (now Allard House), dance teacher and choreographer at Brentwood. Having travelled on four continents while examining for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, Ms. Blake looks forward to many more years of guiding young dancers in the new dance studio and on the stage of the T. Gil Bunch Centre for Performing Arts.
