Leslie Reid Carr, B. A. Spanish and French, PDPP (University of Victoria)

Leslie Reid Carr has a double major in Spanish and French from the University of Victoria. As a teenager, she lived in Mazatlán, Mexico, and later worked for Club Med in Cancun. Diverted from a career in the hospitality industry by her love of languages, Mrs. Carr studied to become a teacher. She was first employed by Brentwood in 1985, but was recruited by Shawnigan Lake School in 1988 to pioneer that school's co-educational venture. She was appointed House Parent of its first two residences for girls. After marrying Brian and having her two children, Mrs. Carr returned to Brentwood in 2002 to teach Spanish and French. In addition to spending her time in the classroom, "Señora" is the proud Houseparent of her 74 Allard house mermaids.
