Jim Ganley, B.A. (Trent University), B.Ed. (Queen's), M.A. (University of Toronto)

Parents with a sense of adventure took Jim Ganley from his childhood home in sleepy Peterborough, Ontario, to encounter his adolescence in Kingston, Jamaica and Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Along the way, he attended numerous independent schools as either a student or teacher. These included Lakefield College, Trinity College, and Shawnigan Lake School. In between, Mr. Ganley earned an Honours B.A. in English from Trent, a B.Ed. and M.A. from the University of Toronto and developed a passion for travelling backwards over water in narrow rowing shells. He has been teaching English and coaching rowing since 1999. Mr. Ganley and his wife, Jill, who coaches basketball and volleyball, are raising their children in the peaceful beauty of the Cowichan Valley.
