Jane Jackson, B.Ed. (University of Victoria)

Having spent her youth on a farm in the Cowichan Valley, with a four-year interlude in the outback of Western Australia, Jane Jackson made the move to the "big" city after graduating from high school. At the University of Victoria, she earned her B.Ed. in physical education and mathematics, while pursuing her passion for sports by playing soccer on the varsity team. In 1984, at the tender age of twenty-three, she started her teaching career at Brentwood. Her brother, Sean Hutchinson, and sister, Jill (Hutchinson) Dayton, are Old Brentonians. Mrs. Jackson spent eight years as a Houseparent in Mackenzie House, has taught all grade levels of mathematics, and coached many sports, particularly field hockey, cross-country running and soccer. To round out her academic and athletic endeavours, she has learned to play the guitar and now lends her talent and stage presence to the staff band. In the summers, Mrs. Jackson spends her time cruising the coastal waters in a sailboat with her husband, Mark, and their two daughters.
