Harold Backer, B.Sc.Eng. (Princeton University), M.B.A. (University of Western Ontario)

Born in Selkirk, Manitoba, Harold Backer spent his childhood on Vancouver Island and in Peru. An inauspicious career start as a student at Brentwood College School in the 1970s blossomed favorably and surprisingly into a number of academic and athletic accomplishments. A three time Olympian (rowing) and financial planner, Mr. Backer has finally forsaken the globetrotting ways that saw him domiciled in Peru, Germany, Norway, Australia, and the United States; he has completed an orbit that began in Mill Bay and has returned to Brentwood. Here, he is an Assistant Houseparent in Rogers House, a recruiter for Princeton University, a rowing coach, and one of a number of untanglers who routinely resolves the computer calamites that befall his less enlightened colleagues. Mr. Backer has three children.
