Alanna Martin, B.Ed. (University of Victoria)

Growing up in British Columbia, Alanna Martin graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Education in physical education and mathematics. At university, she played goalkeeper for the 1984 varsity field hockey team (Canadian national champions) and as captain, led her team to a third place national finish in 1985. After teaching in Hazelton, British Columbia, Mrs. Martin returned to Victoria to teach and to help coach the varsity squad. She travelled to Germany with the Senior B.C. indoor team as their manager and athletic trainer. Mrs. Martin taught at Queen Margaret's School and Shawnigan Lake School before joining the Brentwood faculty in 2003 to teach mathematics and coach field hockey. In addition to enjoying baseball, skiing, and swimming, Mrs. Martin also sings in a choir, and is very involved with her family and church. She is a strong supporter of the philosophy and values of the Brentwood community.
