Volleyball Earns BC Bronze

This past weekend the Brentwood Senior A Volleyball team had their final tournament of the season: they competed in the 2011 BC Provincial AA Championships. Entering the tournament ranked 8th, the team had a lot to work for. By beating the #2 ranked team in the province at the end of round robin play, they finished first in their pool. 

The quarter final game against Sa-Hali was a bit easier and the girls again came out on top. After giving Pacific Academy (the eventual gold medalists) a run for their money in the semi-final match, the Brentwood girls finished with a tough loss. This left the team with a chance to medal and be the third ranked team in BC. 

Beating Kalamalka in the bronze medal match was a great way to end the season and all the girls were very happy to bring home some hardware (and a really, really big trophy). Emily H was the all-star for Brentwood and Kendra S and Steph T were each named to an all-star team.

Congratulations to the girls for a terrific season and to their coaches, Mrs. Fougner and Mr. Minckler, for all their efforts.
