A Tuesday evening in early June marked an opportunity for 20 Rogers House Grade 12s to enjoy something seldom seen by Brentwood students: steak. The endeavor was well justified, as these twenty young men were the Rogers House Prefects, celebrating the survival of the horde of Grade 9s and 10s who had arrived nine months earlier.  The steak itself was an inch and a half thick, cooked medium rare, and served with a choice of fries or twice-baked potatoes. The dish reminded me of home. The outing was followed up with an obligatory trip to Dairy Queen. All of this couldn’t have happened without the generosity of the Rogers Houseparent, Captain Ken Snow. The steak came at just the right time, providing a much needed morale boost before exams, and the evening fuelled the house for the challenge of taking first place in Interhouse!  Rogers ahoy!
