McCarthy Pens First Novel

Mr. David McCarthy, Director of Academics (pictured above leading a geology trip to Salt Spring Island) recently published his first novel, "A Hard Rain." Written largely while on sabbatical a few years ago in St Andrews, Scotland, Dave, a science teacher by training (and a part time philosopher) wanted to write something that would explore the dialectic between hard science and the ethereal, but no less real, sphere of human spirituality. An adventure story with a suspiciously BCS backdrop and a First Nations element, "A Hard Rain" is a fast paced, entertaining read for all ages.
