Since the commencement of third term rugby, May 9th has been branded onto the hearts and minds of all junior rugby boys. May 9th is the date we clashed against our longtime rival, Shawnigan Lake School. The matchup of the two titans took place on our Gillespie Field on, you guessed it, May 9th. Everything we’d done so far into the term has been preparing us for May 9th, whether it's our win over NDSS or the sweet victory over South Delta, every game and practice we’ve had since the beginning of the term has been readying us for the battle with Shawnigan. As a squad, we’ve come a long way since the beginning of the term. When the season first started, many of us didn't even understand the basic rules or even how to pass. Nevertheless, as we slowly gelled and began to bond together as a team, we have improved greatly and learned many valuable lessons along the way. As the game commenced, the boys fought with intensity and determination. We fought hard against Shawnigan under the leadership of Captain Jacob B, Ellis ‘19 Brentwood attacked with intensity and defended steadily. Unfortunately, as the time reached zero Shawnigan took the dub, but Brentwood fought hard and will seek redemption next week in a rematch on Monday, May 15th.  Michael L, Roger ‘19
