The Junior Boys team started their season off with a 3rd place finish in their opening tournament at Lambrick, narrowly losing by one point in the semi-finals to the eventual champion, Claremont. The boys then looked ahead to their next challenge: they travelled to Vancouver seeking success. We thrived in our first two ISA games coming away with two victories, setting up a meeting with a tough St. George’s team in the semi. It was a close game, but the opposition pulled away in the fourth quarter. After falling to St. George’s, the boys kept their heads held high and defeated SMUS, capturing back-to-back third place ISA finishes.  The boys then returned home to compete in the Brentwood Challenge Tournament, starting off strong by winning their first two games, and were ready to compete for a spot in the finals. We showed no sign of fatigue, playing one of our best games of the season, defeating Lambrick. Up next was Mount Doug. The boys competed hard throughout the entire game, but didn’t quite have enough, ending up finishing second.  After finishing the season with a 13-6 record, we were ready to compete for a spot in the Provincials as we travelled to Belmont where we faced the host team in the opening game. We were hit with a full court press and were defeated by the eventual second place team. As we always seemed to do, however, we showed tremendous resilience by winning the next game against the North Island Champ, NDSS. For a berth in the Provincial Championship we were then up against Lambrick, whom they’d had a perfect record against. Unfortunately, we fell short despite our best efforts. We then ended the season on a high note, defeating Oak Bay for a fifth place Island finish.  The Grade 10s will continue to devote their time over the offseason to improve their strength and skills, competing for playing time with the seniors next season. Good luck also to the Grade 8s & 9s as they assemble next year’s Junior team. Ian G, Rogers ‘19
