It was a normal Friday night. Students were signing into their houses to start their two hours of prep. Only, none of that happened. This night was Interhouse Basketball, a night where legends are born. A night where the unexpected happens. A night where hoops stars shine brightest.  The Woodward Sportsplex was filled wall to wall with athletes warming up and their respective fans. Oohs and ahhs emerged from the crowd as Johnny M, Ellis ‘18 and Cole H, Whittall ‘17 threw down dunk after dunk. After a few minutes of warmups, the games began.  The junior games started off the night, with Whittall, led by Konrad K, Whittall ‘19, routing Privett while Rogers, led by Ian G, Rogers ‘19, beat Ellis. The girls faced a similar fate, as Chidinma A, Alex ‘17 & Alex House beat Hope & Flavie B Allard ‘17 while Allard beat Mackenzie.  In the senior boys first round, the aforementioned dunkers, Johnny & Cole, led their respective teams to victory over Rogers and Privett. In the consolation bracket, Ellis’ junior team beat Privett’s, Mack’s girls team beat Hope’s, and Rogers’ senior team beat Privett’s. In the Junior Boys Final, Rogers beat Whittall. In the girls final, Allard beat Alex. And in the senior boys final, Ellis beat Whittall.  It was an extremely fun night for everyone: players, fans, and staff alike. Thank you to Mr. Gage and Mr. Sullivan for doing something that roughly resembled refereeing, as well to all of those who stayed behind to clean up and move the bleachers following the event. See you all at the next Interhouse event!  Olamide O, Privett ‘18
