Good Friday, Great Weekend

Around Brentwood, clocks struck 8:00 a.m. Academic classes would usually have been starting up in 15 minutes, but that was not the case last Friday morning. Instead, students loaded onto buses and vans and got ready for a very well deserved, relaxing Easter break. Last Friday morning’s busy schedule of early departure times and last minute packing luckily did not erupt into chaos in most houses, as can sometimes happen before a school break. Instead, the atmosphere surrounding most houses was quiet as students tiredly dragged themselves out of bed and went to breakfast and then to their bus, excitedly pondering what these four days off had to offer. April had been a very busy month full of many school assignments, several rowing regattas, sports tournaments and other special events so everyone was looking forward to a, hopefully, re-energizing four-day break. And it was. Many students spent Easter break visiting with family and friends. Others went to the bright lights of Vancouver, some went skiing among the warming, spring conditions of Whistler, and others simply went home to relax. Although Easter break quickly came and went, we are all ready and prepared to be back. With the Brentwood International Rowing Regatta this weekend and two back-to-back Red Saturdays in early-May, there is still plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks and months.
