Crowder Addresses 11’s

Mrs. Jean Crowder recently took time out of her busy campaign schedule to speak to 60 Socials Studies 11 students about her daily responsibilities as the NDP Member of Parliament for Nanaimo-Cowichan. In the 90 minute session, she took questions from our students about her policies, being on the campaign trail and the life of an MP both in their home riding as well as in Ottawa. Some of her priorities include encouraging women to join politics, helping the disadvantaged in our society, and helping to maintain a strong, supportive and environmentally sustainable Cowichan Valley and Canada. Cameron R commented that “Mrs. Crowder gave an excellent perspective of Canadian national affairs that we don’t often get in the Brentwood bubble”.
