From our alumni, parents and friends who help in so many areas of school life, to emeritus faculty who continue to serve the school in the classroom, around campus and at social functions, these dedicated volunteers make an invaluable contribution to the Brentwood experience.

The Old Brentonians Association is all about keeping alumni connected to their school through regional alumni receptions and class reunions. In the process, Old Brentonians fill a multitude of volunteer roles and are tremendous contributors to our community:

  • speaking to students at Careers Day (pictured above), at special assemblies or in the classrooms
  • organizing and hosting regional social functions
  • referring students
  • rallying peers for class reunions
  • serving on the Brentwood College Board of Governors (8)
  • assisting with fundraising through the Rowing Endowment Committee, as a class rep, a crew rep, or by encouraging friends to support the school
  • serving on the Planned Giving Advisory Council
  • serving on the OBA Executive

Local parents, as well as those at a distance, find meaningful volunteer roles. We are grateful to all who assist in the following range of areas:

  • referring prospective students
  • hosting admissions receptions, many in their homes
  • hosting students who cannot get home for short vacations
  • serving on the Brentwood College Board of Governors (14)
  • serving on the Parent Committee which assists with Annual Giving
  • billeting international teams
  • working the concession at sports events
  • assisting at the Brentwood Regatta
  • chaperoning extra-curricular school trips
  • hosting barbeques after dances on Saturday nights
