The Brentwood College School Library is an active teaching, learning, and research centre. Managed by a trained, full-time teacher-librarian, the library serves as the information hub of the school. A variety of resources and services for students and faculty are provided in this beautiful 4100 sq. ft. oceanfront facility.
The library resources include:
- Seating for 60 students
- 26 computer workstations plus wireless access
- Approximately 12,000 titles in the print collection including reference, fiction, and non-fiction works
- A minimum of 500 new books added every year
- A reading room with over 60 monthly magazines and 7 daily newspapers
- An audiovisual collection to support the academic curriculum
- Dedicated Library of Congress software intended to prepare students for university library catalogues
- Online subscription research databases available to all students.
The goals of the Brentwood College School Library are:
- To create an inviting atmosphere for the active appreciation of print and digital materials.
- To promote teaching and learning through access to resources and information in diverse formats.
- To teach and assist students developing research skills.
- To foster a desire to read for pleasure by maintaining an extensive fiction collection of classical, popular, and acclaimed titles.
- To encourage the input of staff and students in the selection of resources.
- To support the academic, arts, and sports curriculae of the school.
