We teach information technology and Computer Science at Brentwood to inspire students, challenge them, and to explore the difficult questions and endless possibilities that technology presents in the new millenium. Courses, workshops, presentations, events and spontaneous teachable moments provide students with the opportunity to widen their horizons and prepare for university life.
Computer Science Programme
Computer Science 11 is an introductory programming course that immerses students in the theory and practical aspects of software design and programming.
The purpose of our Computer Science programme at Brentwood is to provide students with an understanding of objected oriented design and programming practices within a real world context. The theory and practice of software development are explored in tandem. In addition, the role of the technology, with an emphasis on software, is examined with ethics, safety, leading edge design trends, as well as societal and financial contributions.
No previous programming experience is required in order to study Computer Science at Brentwood. However, students will benefit from an exposure to logic, computer technology concepts, and an interest in the art and science of imagining and creating new worlds with software.
